Air Experience Flying over Shropshire

12 New Cadets from 121( Nuneaton ) Squadron Air Training Corps took to the skies over Shropshire when they visited RAF Cosford on one of there several flying days they are allocated each year.

Each Cadet flew for 20mins in the single engine Grob Tutor during which time they were introduced to the controls of the aircraft and the layout of the aircraft cockpit.

Cadet Goodyear said of his first flight , “It was nerve wracking and exciting and a wonderful opportunity I would not have got without being in the Air Cadets “

Cadet Parkes said,” I enjoyed the experience I had been looking forward to it and it was worth the wait”

Flt Lt Ian Crewe Officer Commanding 121 said. “Air Experience Flying is to give these young people a taste of flying, which the majority would not get if they were not members of the Air Cadets. Its one thing going in a holiday jet but it's a different story in a two seater aeroplane with a parachute strapped to you. “
