Air Cadets from 121 (Nuneaton) 497 (Daventry) 1368 (Warwick and Royal Leamington Spa) and 2028 (Southam) Squadrons, will be taking part in the Coventry Airport Charity Fly-in being held on 26 th September.
Some of the world's most recognisable historical aircraft are plotting a course for Coventry Airport 's Charity Fly-in to help raise urgently needed funds for wounded servicemen and women. The Fly-in will include the famous Battle of Britain Commemorative Flight and feature many other legendary aircraft from the Spitfire, Hurricane, Tornado and Hercules to the modern day jet fighters, helicopters, classic flights and last but not least the somewhat slower Air Cadet Vigilant T1 moterised gliders of 637 Volunteer Gliding Squadron, that are expected to be flown in from their base at RAF Little Rissington in Gloucestershire. Don't forget, Vulcan, XH558, part of the RAF's original V-bomber force is coming. She's due to Fly In to Coventry Airport at 11:00hrs, so don't miss her.
The Fly-in will be a fantastic day out for families and aviation fans alike, with entrance by a donation of £20 per car or £5 per pedestrian. Funds raised will go towards improving the lives of wounded servicemen and women who are being treated at the Centre for Defence Medicine based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham .
