The rousing sound of pipes and drums set the tone for the Cadets and Staff of 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron as they joined the ranks of scores of old sailors, soldiers, airman and today's serving personnel for a Veterans Day parade.
On Friday 27 th June the flag lined streets of the North Warwickshire town of Bulkington set the scene for one of the counties biggest ever military marches in celebration of Veterans Day.
The parade which included the 258 th Signal Squadron from nearby Bramcote Barracks made its way from the War Memorial Club to St James Church, where wreathes were laid and a service was conducted by Rav Paul Messam.
Following the event, Flight Lieutenant Ian Crewe Officer Commanding 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron said, “Veterans Day is an opportunity to bring what the British forces have done and what they continue to do into the public eye. We have Remembrance Sunday which is a solemn occasion, but now we also have Veterans Day which allows us to celebrate the achievements of members of our armed forces both past and present.”
