1459 (Heart of England ) Squadron held its annual presentation evening on 14 Dec 2010 .
Wing Commander Ladwa & WSO Sqn Ldr Foster were on hand to present Certificates and Trophies to the Cadets for their achievements during the year.
Among the recipients were Cdts Ashley Clamp and Amy Allen as joint top collectors during the year, Cdt Arran Thorne as top sports Cadet; Cdt Ben Smith as top academic cadet and best cadet, Cdt Clamp as best new cadet; Cdt Reece Hopkins as best Shot, Cpl Josh Bromage for achievement in Flying/Gliding and Cpl Sophie Wilkes as best NCO.
The presentation evening rounded off a good year for the Squadron, 7th overall at Wing Field Day with second place in Banner Drill and First aid, 4th in the Collins Trophy Shoot, and Semi-Finalists in the Junior 5-a-Side Soccer.
The squadron also participated in public events, including attendance at Bedworth Armistice Parade, where FS Sam Quinn paraded the Wing Banner; collecting £1422 for the RBL Poppy Appeal, and participating in the Cadet 150 celebration in the Birmingham Military Tattoo. The Squadron intends to maintain its participation in all these events during the coming year, with fingers crossed for similar results.
