Cadets and Staff of 1459 Heart of England squadron have been busy in the past few weeks carrying out their duties by carrying the Wing Banner at a number of parades and events.

First, we attended Bedworth Armistice Parade on 11-11-11, shortly followed by Birmingham Remembrance Parade, where Standard Bearer Cdt Sgt Sophie Wilkes was invited to Tea with the Mayor of Birmingham. The Squadron then represented the Wing over the weekend of 10/11 December at the Birmingham International Christmas Tattoo by participating in the Air Cadet 70th Anniversary section of the Show. The Wing Banner was centre with Banners from West Mercia & Staffordshire Wing in following the National Air Cadet Band, who in turn followed the Rifle Drill Display team from 126 City of Derby Squadron.
CWO Sam Quinn, Banner Warrant Officer said “I am proud that the Squadron represented the Wing at this important event and relished parading the Banner in front of the large crowds over the weekend. 1459 Sqn will be aiming to retain the Banner Trophy in 2012
