An unseasonably warm October weekend saw 15 Cadets from 163 squadron join forces with 5 cadets from 1459 squadron to begin the journey to Wales for their ambitious climb up Snowdon .
163's cadets took on the activity as a sponsored climb to raise funds for the squadron to buy a trailer, to enable them to undertake more adventure training opportunities.
While staying at Capel Curig Training Camp, the cadets started early and began the climb upwards. Split into 3 teams, the cadets and staff made their way steadily upwards, reaching the summit for the crucial photograph by lunchtime.
It was an extremely challenging weekend, and it was excellent to see that regardless of level, all of the cadets successfully completed the walk and have a great deal to be proud of in having done so.
The squadron were very pleased with the cadets' fund raising efforts, and although money is still; being collected, early indications show hundreds have been raised towards the total of £1,200 the squadron is aiming for.
