Flight Sergeant Kevin Dale, is celebrating the double after achieving his silver gliding wings two weeks before passing his driving test.
The 17 year old cadet of 163 (Coventry Phoenix) Squadron, Coventry has been completing his gliding scholarship at DCAE Cosford. Since August, his 10 hours of flying training combined with classroom based aviation training, resulted in the award of his silver wings.
Kevin says, ‘ I enjoyed every minute of my gliding scholarship and to come away with my silver wings is fantastic. This is what I joined the Air Cadets for. Then, I passed my driving test first time too, I’ve had a great couple of weeks.’
Kevin is currently away in Wales undertaking his Institute of Leadership and Management Level 3 qualification, having been one of 30 cadets selected from all of the cadet forces Nationwide.
His Commanding Officer, Flight Lieutenant Les Vile added, ‘Flight Sergeant Dale has had a great year and I am very proud of him and his achievements. He has a great attitude and a desire to achieve, and fully deserves his successes.’
