163’s Monster’s Ball is a Spooky Success

163’s Monster’s Ball is a Spooky Success163 Squadron embraced the spooky Halloween spirit this year by holding their first Monster's Ball.

The event was held at the squadron Headquarters, and saw the Drill Hall transformed to make a perfect venue for the event. It was well supported by the cadets, who enjoyed the decorations and themed food and drinks, as well as a disco for the evening.

Prizes were awarded for the best costumes, with Cdt Halligan winning the boys category having dressed as Peter Pan, and Sgt Messam winning the girls as a zombie cheerleader. All of the cadets and their friends in attendance embraced the event and we saw all sorts, from Han Solo, to Daphne from Scooby Doo.

With the event such a great success 163 hopes to make the event even bigger and better next year.

Our thanks go to a number of local businesses and friends who assisted us with the event – Pumpkins R Us, Tiny Door Designs, and our DJ, Dean who provided us with the entertainment and decorations, as well as Robert Dorman and Rachael Palmer, who despite having no personal involvement with the corps gave up the majority of their weekend to help set up the venue, keep the event running smoothly and tidy up the aftermath.

The night was greatly successful and many thanks to all who supported it for their contributions.
