Cadet Brett Hopkins was recently presented with his regional marksmanship badge on final parade by Flt Lt Les Vile RAFVR (T), 163 squadron’s commanding officer.
This award is the result of much hard work from Cadet Hopkins, who has been working towards a marksman for the last few months. Hopefully this will be the first of many marksmanship awards as the cadets work to better themselves at target shooting through practice and by learning and refining correct marksmanship technique.
Sgt Steve Mason, 163 Shooting officer commented, “Cadet Hopkins has shown a natural aptitude for shooting since he first fired the No8 rifle and has been working towards a marksmanship ever since. He has quickly and consistently improved to the point where he has now managed to skip the first two levels of marksmanship badge in order to gain his regional marksman. “
