Cadets at 163 Squadron are celebrating an extended festive season with a trip to Solihull Ice Rink.
Following an extremely successful visit to the ice rink last year, the cadets piled onto the squadron minibus for their social night. Though extremely varied in their skating abilities, 15 cadets from the squadron donned their skates and took to the ice at a disco night put on by the rink. The night was held in support of Children in Need, and the cadets took great delight in contributing to the charity in exchange for song requests, shout outs and edible goodies, certainly keeping the DJ busy for the evening.
The night was brilliant fun for all involved, with the only disappointment for the cadets being, despite their best efforts, their failure to convince Flt Lt Rayner to give skating a go. After two hours of skating, time was called on the evening, and they swapped their skates for their shoes for the journey home.
The event was a great success, and gave the Squadron an excellent and well deserved night to relax and enjoy a change from their usual activities.
