A Wet Day for Water Activities

163 Squadron water activities day at Bosworth WaterLast Sunday, 2 nd May, cadets from 163 Squadron enjoyed a water activities day at Bosworth Water. The cadets, accompanied by guests from 8F, could not believe the change in weather or temperature following the recent sunshine, but despite the cold wind, they were determined to enjoy the day.

As the staff looked on from the warm cafe area, the instructors divided the cadets into two teams with half windsurfing and the other half sailing – both proving very entertaining in the wind. As many ended up in the lake, they all emerged smiling. After a welcomed hot chocolate, they swapped activities.

After lunch, the two teams became competitive with some kayaking races and games, followed by raft building, in which A Flight were far the superior!

For many cadets, it was the first time they had experienced either some or all of the activities and it was a good opportunity to do something different. The staff at Bosworth Water were excellent hosts and were very complimentary of the cadets’ attitudes, behaviour and motivation.
