On Easter Sunday 4 th April 2010 a Citroen Saxo was driving up Cym Ystwyth when it slid partly off the road and came to rest with the right hand wheels just on the road . The rest of the car was perched precariously down a 45 degree bank.
Luckily for the driver the incident had taken place less than 100 yards from Tracy Island, the home of Intersquadron Rescue. Intersquadron Rescue didn't wait to pick up a radio signal, they leapt into action.
While Jeff Tracy went down to the accident site to take control, Scott, Alan and Gordon controlled the traffic on what is a very narrow stretch of road. This allowed Virgil to reverse Thunderbird 2 down to the accident. Thunderbird 2 quickly attached it's on board towing equipment and the rescue was completed.
Due to the prompt action of Intersquadron Rescue the road was only closed for ten minutes. The car's driver and many of the drivers in the queue were vocal in their praise of the teams actions.
Unfortunately due to Intersquadron Rescues secret nature the automatic camera detector on Thiunderbird 2 erased any photographs of the event.
