The Cadets had managed over 365 activities throughout 2007 which is an amazing achievement in itself. The individual Presentations to the cadets were made by Wing Commander Ladwa, starting with the final Presentation Evening at 165 Squadron of ICWO Emma Hart, who leaves the Squadron at the start of March.

The special Achievement Awards were made by Wing Commander Mills and included the Inter-Flight Trophy, The Adventure Training Shield, The Jaguar Cars Sporting Achievement Trophy as well as Recruit of the Year and Cadet of the Year.

Civilian Instructor Mike Ward was given two special awards for his 50 years service with the Squadron.Civilian Instructor Mike Ward was given two special awards, both for the same thing! the first award to Mike was from the staff to mark the completion of 50 years service with the Squadron. Mike started as a Cadet in August 1957 and rose through the ranks to cadet Flight Sergeant, before transferring to the the adult staff as a CI in 1963. Flt Lt James Martin, Mikes latest CO, said "Mike was a member of staff at 165 Squadron when I started as a Cadet back in 1979 and he must be one of the longest serving members of staff in the Wing. He is still very reliable and tremendously dedicated to the Squadron and the Cadets. It gave me great pleasure to present him with the Award from his fellow staff members in front of so many friends from the ATC."

His second Award was a replacement award at the Squadron and it was the with great pleasure that I was able to get Mrs Barbara Lemm, widow of Sqn Ldr Dave Lemm, who many older staff members will remember, to present Mike with the new Dave Lemm Award for Oustanding Achievement for his 50 years commitment to 165 Squadron.

Also in attendance was the Squadrons Honorary President, Sqn Ldr AJ Phillips, the Wing Chairman Mrs A Permain as well as many other uniformed visitors from throughout the Wing, both past and present.
