Fanfare at the National Band Championships

194(BSA) Sqn's Fanfare Trumpeters had the honour of representing Central and East Region at the recent ATC National Band Championships at RAF Halton.

Sergeant A Taj, Corporal R Landa and Cadet S Haque qualified for this prestigious national competition by winning the inter-squadron and inter-wing trumpet fanfare competitions earlier in the year.

The National Championships were held on Sunday 20 November and competition was fierce, with very high standards from the full bands that took part, as well as the various music sections. 194's Fanfare just missed out on third place, but this still represented an excellent performance considering the national reach of the competition. There were only thirteen points separating second and fourth placings, an indication of the closeness of the competitors.

The standard of the main bands and the various music sections was very high, and the overall winners were deserving of their successes.
