Officer leaves Hinckley to take command of new Squadron

Pilot Officer Martin Lovell of 198 Hinckley Squadron, Air Training Corps, has left to take up the post of Officer Commanding of 2286 (Arden) Squadron in Coventry .

During his time with 198 Squadron, Martin became Training Officer and in this role was responsible for the training and organization of cadets and staff in completing instruction to a level to achieve recognized passes in the appropriate subjects and examinations, and during his time in this role Hinckley achieved outstanding results.

Martin has been an outstanding asset to the Squadron and will be greatly missed by both Staff and Cadets alike.

Stepping into his shoes will be CI Doug Hibbitt (on right of picture), who was a former cadet at the squadron 30 years ago, and has decided to come back and put back some of what was learnt, and carry on the good work started by Martin.
