A successful month for awards and exam results

198 ( Hinckley ) Squadron ATC boasted a very successful month of May for awards and exam results.

First we promoted 4 new Corporals following a very successful contribution in the last wing Junior NCO course held at DCAE Cosford in early May. 3 of the cadets got best in syndicate nominations, all contributed well and got very positive course appraisals culminating in the award of their Corporal stripes.

Exams on receiving the results from the April exam in early May we where very please with the highest success that Hinckley had achieved in my time, we had 16 passes made up of 4 distinctions, 9 credits and 3 passes no failures and 1 partial pass, it shows the hard work and commitment of both the cadets and staff.

Cadets Timpson, Shreeve, Leman, Wilkinson and Porter also complete their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh awards.

Wing Sports Cdt Wragg and  WilkinsonWe also hade some significant success in the during the recent Wing Athletics Championships held at Tudor Grange in Solihull . Cdt Wragg came 1st in the final of both the girls 100 and 200 mts sprint and went on the represent the Wing at the regional final at Saffron Lane Leicester where she achieved 1 silver and a bronze award, at the same competition Cdt Wilkinson came first in the boys Javelin event in Solihull also going forward to represent the Wing in the Javelin and came 3 receiving a bronze medal. Both cadets are hoping that their achievements may lead to them both representing the Region in the next stage of the competition.
