On Monday 21 st December 2009 , Wing Commander PP Ladwa (OC of Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing) visited 198 ( Hinckley ) Squadron on their last parade of the decade, and coincidentally last one before Christmas.

Wg Cdr Ladwa addressed the cadets for 30 minutes (outlining many changes that lie ahead for the ATC), and then had a lively question and answer session with them. Following that he then had a briefing with all the Squadron staff who again were able to air questions face to face with their `Boss` - not something they can do easily or regularly.

Wg Cdr Ladwa commented on the success of 198 Sqn and their healthy position on cadet and staff numbers, and wished all a most enjoyable Christmas and his very best wishes for 2010.

Sqn Ldr Bryan Coats the WSO for 198 Sqn said that the cadets did not know OC Wing was attending, and were most surprised when he gave them his briefing – with all of them seated and him not!, and this did generate many interesting points raised by the cadets themselves. The staff were aware of the visit obviously, but made the most of being able to put questions directly to the OC Wing. An interesting and informative evening.
