Air Experience Flying at RAF Cosford

On Saturday the 7th May 2011 six lucky Cadets from 2028 Southam Squadron went flying at RAF Cosford in Shropshire.

After an early start from Southam, to be precise 6.30am, they joined the coach from Southam accompanied by CI Halford and collected Cadets from four other Squadrons on the way to Cosford.

Unfortunately the weather was not the best for flying; it was cloudy and for the most part wet. However 5 of the Cadets managed to get airborne and enjoy a flight over Shropshire, some of them for the first time since joining the Air Cadets. Due to the rain and a late start for the flying one of the Cadets didn't get to fly but at least she had flown before!

2028 The six cadets who flew

Flight Lieutenant Moreton the Squadron Commander of 2028 Squadron commented, "After so many weeks of great weather it was a pity that the Cadets flew in such poor conditions but nevertheless, they all enjoyed the experience, one which most young people never get the opportunity to do."
