2009 is becoming a good sporting year for 2028 Southam Squadron, several Cadets attended the Wing Athletics in May this year. The weather was hot and all those who attended did really well, returning with three Gold, one Silver and two Bronze medals.

Two of the Cadets were then chosen to be part of the Wing Team at the Regional Athletics. The day was hot once again but the two Cadets won Gold and a Bronze medal between them.

As a result both of them were part of the Regional Team, representing Central and East at the Corps Athletics and returned with yet another Gold medal.

Both Cadets proudly showed off their Wing and Regional ‘Blues' to the Cadets on Parade on Monday evening the 29th June 2009 .

One of the Cadets will now go forward as part of the Corps 4 X 100 Relay Team later in the year and hopefully return with a Corps 'Blue.'

Flight Lieutenant Moreton, CO of 2028 Squadron commented, “The first 6 months of 2009 are proving to be very successful for 2028, I am sure that there are some very surprised faces around the Wing. Not only have my Cadets taken part in the Athletics but they have done very well and to have Cadets chosen to be part of the Wing and Regional Teams with one now going forward to represent the Corps is fantastic. I am very proud of them all.”
