On Thursday 9th November 2006, Flight Lieutenant Moreton RAF VR(T) of 2028 Southam Squadron presented a Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award and four 200 Hour Millennium Volunteer Awards to five Cadets from 2028 Squadron.
The Bronze D of E Award represents hard work both on Squadron giving Service to the Unit and also learning new Skills such as Ceremonial Drill. It is also the culmination of hard work done on both a Practice and Actual Expeditions, this year held in the Mendips and Derby Dales.
The 200 Hour Millennium Volunteer Awards are presented for attendance on Squadron on a regular basis and also work done outside normal Squadron Parades, including Community activities such as the British Legion Poppy Appeal and earlier this year at the Best of British Festival held at the Heritage Motor Centre in Warwickshire.
Flight Lieutenant Moreton said afterwards, "These Awards recognise the results of the hard work done by my Cadets, in particular the Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze Award. They have put in a lot of time and effort over this past year achieving the targets I set for the Squadron and they are now receiving their reward." |
