Cadets from 2030 (Elmdon & Yardley) Squadron recently visited the Midlands Air Ambulance at Royal Air Force Cosford to present a cheque for £1,000 to the charity.
Cadets raised the substantial amount for the Air Ambulance by bag packing in October 2008 at the Sainsbury's Shirley store. The cheque was presented by the Commanding Officer, Flight Lieutenant Mark Allwood.
Helen Hitchman, the area fundraiser for the Air Ambulance said the cash handed over by the Squadron would be very useful to the organisation and that the charity is very grateful to all those cadets who took part in the bag pack.
The Air Ambulance has been established for 18 years saving a countless number of lives during its service. The charity which is purely charitably supported relies upon donations such as this from 2030 squadron to keep the £25 a minute helicopter in the air.
