Summer Camp Royal Air Force College Cranwell 2006

Cadets from 2030 Squadron Air Training Corps have just returned from a summer camp at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell. The week was hot and a great week overall for those that attended the camp.

Cadets on the camp were given the opportunity to fly as passengers in the Royal Air Force multi-engine training aircraft of 45(R) and 55(R) Squadron. The 45(R) Squadron aircraft was the King Air (prop aircraft), the 55(R) Squadron aircraft was the Dominie (Jet aircraft). Later in the week the opportunity was also given to fly in the Tutor, where the cadets took control and carried out aerobatics (if they wished to).

Leisure was also on the agenda during the week's camp. This included a nights karting at Royal Air Force Digby and a night of 'Midnight' bowling at the Cranwell bowling alley. A visit to Lincoln was also in the programme and was very pleasant. Whilst at Cranwell some cadets had the opportunity to see the passing out parade of initial officer training course one, which was a very impressive occasion. Later that day cadets watched a flying display which included displays from the Red Arrows and fly pasts by a Eurofighter Typhoon and Tornado.
