On 01 May 2011, 2030 Squadron played 479 Squadron in the Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing 11-a-side football final, at DCAE Cosford.  

As 1100 approached the cadets were feeling the pressure mount up. After the whistle blew to start the game there was a frenzy of feet and ball movement, this was short lived as after a short corner taken by 479 was accidentally put into the back of our net by FS Bayliss.

Following the goal, tension was building up throughout the cadets and spectators. The levelling goal was scored by FS Bayliss which sailed past their keeper. The game continued and a second goal for 2030 Squadron was scored, again by FS Bayliss bringing the score to 2-1 . Shortly following this FS Bayliss got his hat-trick by putting yet another goal past their keeper. Everybody could feel the tension as the last 5 minutes ticked down. The final whistle blew, 2030 Sqn 3-1 479 Sqn.
