A Major Visit

On Monday 26th September 2030 (Elmdon and Yardley) Sqn had a visit from an ex-cadet. That ex-cadet is now Major Barry Evans RAMC, a Registrar in Acute Medicine at Selly Oak Hospital .

Barry Evans was a cadet at 2030 Squadron from 1992 until 1994 leaving the squadron to go to Liverpool University where he graduated as a Doctor. Barry has now has served 10 years in the Royal Army Medical Corp and has seen a very active career including four tours in Iraq .

Major Evans had a tour of the squadron, bringing back memories of his good times in the ATC. Then he had a chat with Cdt Sgt Ruth Everett who aspires to follow in the same path as him. Barry gave Ruth some tips and advice on how to pursue her career and he looks forward to seeing her future develop.

Then a change from the normal as the Major took final parade and gave the cadets a talk on is job and what he now does. Major Evans said: " How wonderful it is to be back and to see how the ACO has moved on."
