Instructor Sergeant Wakeman is the first cadet on 2030 (Elmdon & Yardley) Squadron to achieve the Squadron, Wing, Regional and Corps Marksman.

Back in October 2004 as a cadet he achieved the first Wing Marksman on the Squadron under the new marksman classifications. He then became the first Cadet at 2030 with a Corps Marksman in December 2006, then went on to complete his Regional in May 2007 and recently on the wing marksmanship course completed his collection to include a Squadron Marksman.

He continues to attend wing shoots at DCAE Cosford and gallery ranges and hopes to move on to fire the L81 and complete a Weapons Instructor course as soon as possible.
