GC Hero and Cadets Walk For Poppy Appeal

Cadets from 2030 (Elmden & Yardley) Sqn together with ex cadet of 2030 Squadron, George Cross Hero, Marine Matthew Croucher, recently did a sponsored walk for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

At the half way point cadets enjoyed lunch at Knowle RBL headquarters. As the cadets arrived at the Legion, the Mayor Stewart Bell and Mayoress Sally Bell of Solihull , applauded the cadets as they walked to the entrance.

The cadets had burger and chips with the Mayor and Mayoress, Chairman of Knowle RBL Neil McDougal, Poppy Appeal Organiser Mike Adams and Matthew Croucher GC.

At the end of the walk Matthew Croucher said: "How proud I am to see the youth of today go through the task without complaint. I am very proud of 2030 Squadron today and watching the enthusiasm in the cadets gives me great memories of when I was a cadet."

It was a successful day with the squadron hoping to have raised over £500 towards the poppy appeal.
