| It was an exciting moment for 2286 (Arden) Squadron when they finally set foot back on the range at their base. Shooting had been off the syllabus for some time and the range had not been used for even longer.
Sgt Gullick who was one of the cadets in the first detail said he had not had the chance to shoot in his time at cadets and so was very pleased to finally take up that opportunity. The group who shot did very well considering it was the first time for all of them and are looking very promising. The Squadron is now hoping to enter a team in the wing shooting competition this summer and are looking forward to many more shooting opportunities.
Plt Off Lovell, OIC, said that it was very important that cadets receive the widest possible cadet experience and that it was very pleasing to have been able to reach a position where half the squadron are now eligible to shoot and to be able to put shooting back into the timetable.
