| On Tuesday 29 August, the 2 TA Units at TAC Westfield House in Coventry held a recruitment night to show the people of Coventry what they do and to attract their interest in joining the Territorial Army, as a based unit on the TA Centre, 2286 (Arden) Sqn were invited to attend the evening and the TA kindly put up a tent for 2286 Staff and Cadets to have their own presentation stand. By having this presentation stand 2286 were able to attract attention from young people visiting the TA Centre with relatives as well as showing the resident TA units just what the Air Cadets is about.
During the night the Cadets and Staff were given the chance to have a look around the different stands and displays that both the TA and the Army had brought along. The Cadets got involved in all aspects of the night including air pistol shooting, climbing wall and a tour of the 126 REME Unit vehicles and maintenance bays, the cadets also got chance to speak to personnel from different parts of the Army, including Army Air Corps, REME, and Signals personnel.
Fg Off Ben Pinner, Training Officer 2286, said: "We are very grateful to the TA for making the staff and cadets of 2286 welcome at their Recruitment Evening, it has proved to be successful for 2286 and the TA, and it has given our cadets the chance to take part in some of the events of the night"
Overall the night was a good chance for the 2286 Cadets and TA Units to see just what it is one another do, it also gave the cadets the chance to get involved in different activities all within their Squadron compound. All the staff and cadets of 2286 would like to thank the TA for their hospitality.
