On Tuesday 07 June 06, the Central and East Regional Commandant, Group Captain Ford, visited 2286 (Arden) Sqn in Coventry. It was Gp Cpt Ford's first visit to 2286 following the recent staff movements. During the Gp Cpt's visit he took time out to talk to all of the Sqn adult staff and was on hand to field any questions they may have had, as well as to thank the staff for their continued support. The second half of the evening enabled Gp Cpt Ford to tour the Sqn and talk to 2286 cadets, during this time he was able to review a practice of the Sqn's newly formed Continuity Drill Team who were practicing for a display on the coming weekend, Gp Cpt Ford was impressed with the hard work that the cadets had put into the routine and wished them the best of luck for the display.

After reviewing the drill the Gp Cpt held a quick open forum with the cadets, letting them know such things as how the Air Cadets is funded and how that money is spent, things that many cadets just take for granted, he then offered the cadets the chance to put questions to him.

To end the visit Gp Cpt Ford took part in the Sqn Final Parade and wished 2286 all the best for the future. All the staff and cadets agreed the visit had been a good night and we would all like to thank Gp Capt Ford for visiting 2286 and look forward to seeing him again in the future.
