Cadets at Arden enjoyed a busy Saturday at the squadron, when they were given the opportunity to receive instruction on the No 8 rifle and then take their weapons handling test.

Thirteen cadets achieved their whts, some first timers and some requalifications. The instruction included the safety drills for the rifle, how to clean it, the marksman badges available for cadets and general marksman principles and was provided by FS Hudson of 487 (Kingstanding and Perry Barr) Squadron.

With five cadets taking up shooting places this weekend, the Squadron is pleased that another area of opportunity is now available to the cadets. Thanks from the Squadron to FS Hudson and 487 Squadron and to Sgt Steve Mason of 163 Squadron for his assistance, particularly his stepping in at very short notice.
