Cadets and staff from 2438 (Bishop Ullathorne) Squadron Air Training Corps were back at their marshalling stations on Sunday 6 June to help Kenilworth Rotary Club with the 2 Castles run.
The run which incorporated the Warwickshire 10k AA Championship started at Warwick Castle and finished at Kenilworth Castle . The cadets took to their posts in the gorgeous grounds of Warwick Castle during one of the towns most important events on the calendar.
The event organised by Kenilworth Rotary Club from saw the Cadets along with hundreds of other Rotary volunteers carrying out the duty of course marshals to ensure the 2,400 competitors remained on the right route. The cadet's main task was to direct the runners from the car park to the start of the race and point them in the direction of the nearest conveniences.
The cadets thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially watching the likes of men in wigs and batman gather in the castle grounds.
2438 Squadrons Flight Sergeant Alan Tillman said “ This is the second year the cadets from 2438 squadron have helped out with the event and the cadets thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This was a great opportunity for the cadets to raise the profile of the squadron by supporting the rotary Club with this fantastic event .”
