On Thursday 18th November, cadets from 2438 (Bishop Ullathorne) Squadron Air Training Corps had the chance to throw cream pies at a member of staff to raise money for Children in Need.
Being the good sport that he is, Flight Sergeant Alan Tillman agreed to be the victim for charity and all the cadets on parade jumped at the chance to splat him with a plate of cream in return for a £1 donation to charity.
The squadron event raised £25 for Children in Need which will go towards the rest of the BBC’s Children in Need donations aimed to change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
Cadet Callum Holland who paid for two plates of cream said “It was so much fun, I doubt Flight Sergeant Tillman will allow us to do it again though”.
Flight Sergeant Tillman said “The cadets appeared to enjoy it rather too much! I am not sure what I have done to warrant the excitement which they displayed, but it was worth it to raise money for a worthwhile cause.”
Cadet Corporal Jordan Chapman had the joy of throwing a bowl of water over Flight Sergeant Tillman, who was unaware this was going to happen, he said “its always good to raise money for charity and I really enjoyed throwing the water over Flight Sergeant Tillman ”.
