On Sunday 2nd September 2438 (Bishop Ullathorne) Squadron undertook a sponsored walk around Draycote Water near Rugby , to help raise Squadron funds. The walk around the man made reservoir is 5 miles in length and takes in the entire shore line as well as the surrounding woodlands, which included a farm of llamas!.
The 10 cadets and 2 staff that took part completed the first circuit of 5 miles in 90 minutes. Some of the cadets then went on to complete further laps of Draycote Water, with Cadets Mutton and Earp completing 3 circuits of the reservoir, a total of 15 miles each and helping raise nearly £150 pounds towards the total for the day.
The walk was undertaken with the kind permission of Severn Trent Water and has helped raise nearly £400 pounds towards 2438 Squadron funds.
Officer Commanding 2438 Flight Lieutenant Nathan Adams said: ' This was both an excellent opportunity to raise much needed funds for 2438 Squadron, as well as a good team building experience for the cadets.' |
