2438 (Bishop Ullathorne) Squadron Cadets and staff enjoyed tea with Coventry 's Lord Mayor Jack Harrison, as a thank-you for their efforts in helping the council with the Coventry Half Marathon.
Staff and Cadets joined other volunteers and prize winners at the event held at St Mary's Guildhall in Coventry , on Monday 14 December 2008.
The Coventry Half Marathon is an annual event covering 13 miles of Coventry 's streets. The event was organised by Paul Claridge and his
team from Coventry City Council and saw the Cadets along with over 200 other volunteers coordinating the provision of route direction facilities, to ensure the 2500 competitors remained on course.
The invitation to the Guildhall, as well as being an evening of presentations and thank you's, also unveiled the DVD of the Half Marathon. This showed all of the hard work put into the event by the organisers and volunteers. The cadets had a good giggle when they saw themselves on the big screen.
2438 (Bishop Ullathorne) Squadrons flight Sergeant Alan Tillman who organised the cadets involvement with the race said ‘It is an honor for all those involved to be invited to this event'. The cadets had an entertaining evening and enjoyed having their photograph taken with the Lord Mayor'
