RAFA visit 29F (Rugby) Squadron

Members of the Rugby and District Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association visited 29F (Rugby) ATC Headquarters, to see for themselves the newly constructed indoor air rifle range, having donated £500 to the Squadron to help build the facility.

This visit was especially significant for RAFA's Ray Tailby, who was a Cadet when the Rugby Squadron was first formed in 1938, as the Air Defence Cadet Corps, a forerunner of the Air Cadet movement. As a Founder ATC unit, 29F Squadron has been in continuous existence since 1941.

Ray, a former Cadet Warrant Officer in that year, tried his hand at target shooting and found he had lost none of his skills with a rifle!
