Red Arrows, Frecce Tricolori, Avro Vulcan, Team Viper, The Breitling Jets, Breitling Wingwalkers, Saudi Hawks, Veteran Warbirds, these are just some of the displays and experiences cadets were able to enjoy whilst away on camp at the Royal International Air Tattoo.

Six cadets from 29F (Rugby) Squadron joined the SWAT team at the camp and arrived at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire on Saturday 10 th July. The SWAT team help to set up the camp for the arrival of the cadets attending the main camp and help with any of the heavy work required by the air cadets to help the air show run.
A further ten cadets and two staff arrived at the camp on Thursday 14 th July for the main camp. The cadets on the main camp help out with various tasks across the air show to make it possible to run. Some of the tasking includes directing VIPs, giving out leaflets, helping out in the enclosures, meeting pilots in the flight centre and helping to control the crowd line. The crowd line is a good job to be tasked with as the cadets sit in front of the crowd and watch the air display from as close to the runway as possible, close enough to feel the roar of the jets taking off. Sergeant Lee Ison commented “this was a different kind of camp for the cadets, they are expected to work but are rewarded with watching the world’s greatest air show.”
On the Monday night the cadets were treated with a disco and barbeque to wind down. The cadets travelled home on Tuesday 19 th of July. Everyone feeling exhausted but having had a thoroughly brilliant time.
