After having plenty of practice at navigating and spending hours planning the routes, the weekend arrived for over twenty cadets from 29F (Rugby) Squadron and 198 (Hinckley) Squadron to head out on their Bronze practice Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expedition. It was the 1 st and 2 nd October 2011 that saw these cadets head out to walk through the countryside around Market Bosworth. Market Bosworth, a small market village, has plenty of history surrounding it: it was here that the Battle of Bosworth was fought in 1485.

The weekend was hit by the late heat wave that covered the country and the cadets were able to enjoy the belated summer. At check points the cadets were all required to plaster themselves with factor 50 sun tan lotion.
Flight Sergeant (ATC) Ison commented that ‘the weather was a little too hot to be walking in but the cadets all showed determination to complete their venture.'
The weekend was very successful and all cadets completed their practice and could look forward to their Actual Venture.
