Cadet Alex Dore of 479 (Rubery) Squadron Air Training Corps, recently represented Central and East Region at the ATC inter regional athletics Championships held at RAF Cosford.

The Championships brings together teams of athletes from the whole of the ATC. Alex competed in the 100m, 200m & 4 x 100m relay, all of which resulted with him collecting a gold medal. Alex also competed in an extra event the 5 x 400m relay where each age group, both male and female, have a selected runner for each of the 400m legs. This race culminated in the team achieving a silver medal.

Flight Lieutenant Pam McAuley OC 479 Sqn said ‘ It is a fantastic achievement to be selected to represent and compete against the rest of the ATC, but to come away from the Championships with 3 gold and a silver medal is amazing'

Alex will later on this summer compete against selected athletics clubs from around the region, to represent the whole of the Air Training Corps.
