| Tuesday 19 th July was a special night for one cadet NCO from 485 (Harborne and Quinton) Sqn ATC. Sgt Adam Campbell, who has only been with the Sqn since February 2009, was promoted to FS.
However the awards didn't finish there for FS Campbell. He has recently completed his Gold Duke of Edinburgh's award and he was presented with his gold badge and pin by Fg Off Simon Jennings, OIC 485 Sqn.
The final award given to FS Campbell was his BTEC in Aviation Studies. He has also recently completed his BTEC in public studies via the CVQO programme and he is expected to gain a distinction star pass in this award.
Fg Off Simon Jennings , OIC 485 Sqn commented “Since I arrived at 485 Sqn in April, FS Campbell's performance has been outstanding. I was very surprised when I checked his record on Bader that he has only been with the ATC since 2009. Adam has represented both the Wing and Region on a number of occasions in a range of differing sports and he was recently awarded the best male sporting cadet for 2010. FS Campbell's performance is a shining example to all other cadets at our Sqn, indeed across all sqn's in the Wing. Adam is awaiting the results of his A Levels and hopefully he will be going off to university in September. Tonight has been a special night for him, and I know that all the staff and cadets at our Sqn would like to pass on our congratulations to him”.
