Cadets Shout Pull and the Clays are smashed

Cadets Shout Pull and the Clays are smashedSunday 5 th June saw 8 cadets from 485 (Harborne and Quinton) Sqn, travel to the Nesscliffe Training Area to take part Clay Pigeon Shooting.

Accompanied by CI Peter Coates and Sergeant Dave Lord, the cadets got a chance to fire an 8 gauge shotgun at clays measuring less than 6 inches across!

Everyone (including the staff) hit at least one ensuring that 485's reputation remains unscathed. In fact, we had a few surprises with a couple of the cadets having a natural aptitude for the sport. We'll be sure to support the formation of a Wing Clay Pigeon Shooting team!

Sgt Lord ATC commented “I would like thank Sqn Ldr Martin for organising the shoot at Nescliffe and also allowing us the use of all the shooting equipment. There were over 30 cadets at the shoot and a great deal of patience was shown by the directing staff. All the cadets and staff were trained how to successfully hit a moving target at 100m, and I know that all the cadets from our Sqn enjoyed the day greatly. We hope that there will be further clay pigeon shoots in the future”.
