| Thursday 17th November was a special night for 3 cadets from 485 (Harborne and Quinton) Sqn. Two of them were promoted and the other received yet another wing blue for his sporting achievements!
First to march out to the front of the parade was Cadet Hayden Hitchman. Earlier in the year Cdt Hitchman had won a wing blue for representing the Wing rugby 7's team and his latest blue was won for been selected to play for the Wing Hockey team. The team actually finished third overall in the regional competition, they didn't get beaten in any game!
Next to march out was Cdt Stacie Williams, he was promoted to Cpl. Cdt Williams has recently attended a JNCO course at RAF Cosford and he passed with a merit score. Finally, Cpl Louise Melvin marched out to the front of the parade to be promoted to Sgt. She too had attended the JNCO course at RAF Cosford and she also passed with a merit score.
Flt Lt Jennings, OC 485 Sqn commented “It's a great honour to both promote cadets and to also recognise their efforts in the sporting field. Cadets only get promoted by showing effort and obviously leadership skills, and both Sgt Melvin and Cpl Williams have both shown recently that they have that. Cdt Hitchman has shown great tenacity in getting into both the Wing Rugby and Hockey teams. I would like to pass on my congratulations to them all”.
