On 16 th February 2008, five cadets from 487 Sqn, Kingstanding and Perry Barr ATC, travelled to DCAE Cosford for a scheduled visit to 8 AEF.

On what turned out to be a freezing cold morning, the cadets from 487 were also joined by 4 cadets from 487 DF along with CI Sean Philips and Plt Off Jennings. Despite there being bright sunshine when all arrived at Cosford, the temperature was still below freezing and therefore the Tutor aircraft could not be pulled out of the hangar due to the risk of ice.

However, the sun soon warmed everything up and flying started at around 10:30. All the cadets who attended had a great day with all completing aerobatics during their flight. All the cadets were first timer flyers in the Tutor.

It was another long day at Cosford, but the chatter in the minibus on the way home showed that all had had a great day.
