Tuesday 23 rd November saw the Annual General Meeting of the 487 (Kingstanding and Perry Barr) Sqn and the 487 Sqn Detached Flight civilian committee.

A total of 20 people attended the meeting, this included the OC's of both the Sqn and Detached Flight and Anne Pearmain who is the Wing Civilian Committee chairman.

A letter was sent via the cadets to all parents and guardians and it was good to see a good number of them turning up on the night. Because of the numbers, the meeting had to be re-located from one of the class rooms to the main room at the Sqn HQ.

Mrs Jane Jennings, Civilian Committee Chairman opened the meeting and welcomed everybody to the meeting. It was announced that both Dave Johnson (Treasurer) and Dave Emberson (Secretary), were standing down from their positions. It was agreed by all attending the meeting that Siobhan Lysaght be elected to the treasurer's position and that Helen Roe be elected to the role of secretary. Flt Lt's Brendan O'Neill and Phil Parsons then presented their annual reports in relation to their respective units.

Mrs Jane Jennings commented “It was good to see such a good number of parents attending the evening, particularly those that parents from the D/F. The more people we can get involved in the Sqn the better. Going into our anniversary year in 2011 I can see that the committee will go from strength to strength and I look forward to another productive year.”
