Whilst the rest of the Sqn were enjoying a well earned Barbeque, Sgt Steven Lycett and Cpl Josh Waldron were taking part, and being successful, in probably the hardest selection weekend in the ATC, they were trying to get on to the Junior Leaders Course.
The two cadets travelled to Lincoln on Friday 3 rd September and a busy weekend was soon underway. Both Sgt Lycett and Cpl Waldron had to show their competencies in four differing areas, they were:
- Physical
- Leadership Skills
- Presentation Skills
- Interview with Section Officer
Both cadets passed with flying colours and are now looking forward to spending the winter months in luxurious conditions in Yorkshire and Norfolk !
Flt Lt Brendan O'Neill, OC 487 Sqn commented “CWO Rigby has just recently passed his Junior Leaders Course and for the Sqn to have another two cadets be successful in passing the selection weekend is fantastic. We all hope that both Sgt Lycett and Cpl Waldron will go from strength to strength in the coming months, they might even beat me at the one and a half mile run! Well done to them both”.
