487 Sqn, Kingstanding and Perry Barr, Air Training Corps are planning a busy evening of recruiting and celebrating on 27 th March 2008 .
On 1 st April 2008 , the Royal Air Force will be celebrating its 90 th Birthday, this makes it the oldest Air Force in the world. Unfortunately, due to annual camp and other training commitments the Sqn cannot celebrate the birthday on the actual day.
As well as celebrating the birthday of the RAF, the Sqn are also holding an open evening for the parents of existing cadets and for all those 13-18 year olds (both Male and Female) who are interested in joining the ATC.
The ATC is one of the largest youth organisations in the UK and is very proud of its links to the RAF. The ATC carry out many activities which include, flying, both gliders and fixed wing aircraft, adventure training, the Duke of Edinburgh's award and many sporting events.
