487 Sqn raise thousands for the Royal British Legion

Cadets from 487 Sqn, Kingstanding and Perry Barr, along with cadets from the Detached flight have been presented with a shield by the Kingstanding Royal British Legion club.

The cadets and staff of 487 Sqn collected £2100 over two days in November 2007. The cadets collected monies in Birmingham City Centre and also in and around the Kingstanding area. The total is £1000 more than last year. Members of the Civilian committee also took boxes of poppy’s into their workplace to help the overall effort.

During a delayed presentation ceremony at the British Legion club the President and Chairman made speeches in which they praised the efforts of the Sqn. Other British Legion members also passed on their appreciation of the cadets efforts.

Cdt Nolan collected the largest amount of money, a great effort to collect over £170, so well done to him.

All at the Sqn look forward to the poppy appeal this year and all are determined to raise even more money for the Royal British Legion.
