Air Cadets Successfully Pull nine tonne Fighter Aircraft for Charity

Air Cadets Successfully Pull nine tonne Fighter Aircraft for Charity!!On 26 th October 2006, 25 cadets from 487 Sqn Air training Corps (ATC) based in Kingstanding, and 487 Sqn Detached Flight, based at the Stockland Green School attempted to pull a Jaguar Fighter Aircraft at RAF Cosford near Wolverhampton.

The aircraft weighs over nine tonnes and has recently retired from front line service with the Royal Air Force.

Using two ropes, the cadets successfully pulled the aircraft over more than 100 yards, into a howling gale and up a slight incline!

The cadets were taking part in the Royal Air Force Association (RAFA) Top Flight Competition. ATC Squadrons across the United Kingdom have been asked to come up with innovative ideas to raise money for RAFA. The Squadron and DF are hoping to raise over one thousand pounds and are already well on the way to reaching that target. The winning squadron has a chance of going to Cyprus with the Red Arrows in 2007.
