2009 Birmingham Tattoo

RAF Cosford No1 SchoolCadets from 4 Squadrons, 489, 1459, 165 & 493 Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing have descended onto the National Indoor Arena (NIA) in the City of Birmingham for the 21 st Birmingham Tattoo.

After the opening fanfare and an introduction from the Birmingham Town Crier, Air Cadets paraded on with the Massed standards which displayed a large number of standards from the West Midlands and in the closing ceremony with the march on of The Queens Colour which was presented by the No 1 School of Technical Training based at RAF Cosford.

The Air Cadets were part of a wonderful spectacle which hosted several international Military displays from the band of Her Majesty's Coldstream Guards, The Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas, The United States Army Europe Band, The Central Band of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan , and The Band & Corps of Drums of the Royal British legion.

Flt Lt Neil Watson Officer Commanding 1459 Sqn and Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing Coordinator for the event said ‘Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing has supported this event from its inception, and our Cadets always enjoy parading for the public. We look forward to next year's event which will hopefully celebrate 150 years of the Cadet Forces.
