489 Squadron (Acocks Green & Olton) have been embracing the National Anti-Bullying Week, which was themed “Taking Action Together”. This is about everyone taking responsibility for challenging bullying and taking a stand to stop it.
The Cadets watched DVDs on bullying, produced posters and displayed them around the squadron, ensuring that everyone is aware that Bullying is NOT tolerated.

Cpl Rebecca Bayliss, 16, said ‘Stamping out bullying in our social networks, either through the cyber world or in the playground is everyone’s responsibility. Bullying makes peoples lives a misery, and now we have learnt who to call if we’re in need of support’.
Squadron Commander, Flt Lt Jo Coles said, “All too often we are seeing the disastrous effects of bullying on our young people. We need to actively listen to their concerns, encourage young people to have their say and ensure effective support mechanisms are in place when professional help is needed.
