The carnival was a complete success with hundreds of visitors and dignitaries from society. The event allowed 489 sqn to showcase the great opportunities it has to offer to the youth community of Acocks Green. Passing visitors to the stand had the unique opportunity to try flying helmets on, and blend into the fields with a little Camo Cream for good measure. As well as some practical experiences Visitors were able to enter a Balloon Race Competition, sponsored by Pixi – Foto. Funds were donated to the Squadrons welfare Fund. Officer Commanding Jo Coles, 489 (Acocks Green & Olton) Sqn said ‘I'm extremely pleased to portray the Organisation in our local society; we have had plenty of inquiries from teenagers and adults alike and look forward to the 489 Sqns prosperous future'.

This years sizzling heat hasn't slowed down 489 Sqn (Acocks Green & Olton) who have been hard at work promoting the Air Cadet Organisation at the Acocks Green carnival.
